Tempering of soul
Tempering of soul:
I
In the dark sand where the bodies are buried, the sky was torn a bit for the people who died on that day. While the sun was about to set, the sunlight cast a shadow on a grave. The shadow was cast due to the woman standing with tear-filled eyes that wanted to tear up for her own good. She was trying to cry at a grave for the people she didn't even know in her life, and as the sky started to become darker, she left the newly buried grave alone. Even though she wanted to stay there for a few minutes more, she moved from there through the east-facing gate, and the ray of light was dimming in that place due to the sunset behind her.
Her face was still a silhouette from a certain distance where the hotel chef stood, and slowly the chef saw her face as it revealed itself through the streetlights that were quite dim. She saw the chef, who was a relative of hers. She moved like she didn't even know that he was her cousin, who was close to her mother and also sometimes worked as a spy for her mother regarding her wellness.
She got into the hotel where there were fewer people, and she sat near the window where she often sat. From there, she stared at the fountain in the center of her area. The coffee arrived at her table even without asking for it, and her cousin came and sat near her.
He said,
"I read that you’ve again been nominated for the national award for best critic. Is it the 5th or 6th time?"
She said,
"I didn't notice you were here, and what did you say? I didn't hear it properly. Can you come again?"
Her cousin said slowly, with a little stressing of words in his vocals,
"Well! I read that you’ve been nominated for the national award for best critic of politics, literature, art, and cinema for the 7th time."
She didn’t give much expression and said,
"Okay! I think it's the 8th time. I don't know exactly."
Her cousin stood up and said,
"You are appreciated for the job you like doing. You should be celebrating. See, out there are a lot of people dying for the appreciation of doing the job they love, and you should know that you are privileged to have this."
She said,
"I am doing it for the happiness I get from doing it, and the people out there dying for appreciation will realize that appreciation is not the biggest privilege. Doing the work is.
Besides doing the work, I feel empty a lot of times, and I need to redeem and feel the godliness in my internal soul for a little bit of happiness during the time of not doing the work that I like."
A voice came from the kitchen,
"Hey Chef! Come faster."
He shouted back,
"I'll come!" and leaned toward her, saw her eyes, and said,
"I need to tell you one thing: the way is not always blocked. You might not know the way, but you'll soon realize it. It's like a pathless path."
She slowly rose from the seat while he was moving toward the kitchen, and she stood in the same place. Through her eyes, it was evident that she was in a dilemma in her personal life, but she had a secure professional life. She walked to her apartment, which was located in the main city, but she came to the small town regularly when she was confused. Yet she always ended up confused when she left the small town, and she was not clear why she liked to come to this small town.
She walked by herself through the crowded places where she felt uncomfortable. When the roads were without people, she felt secure in that place, but always, while she travelled, the paths were mostly crowded. While walking in crowded paths, she thought about the worst things that could happen to her.
She thought,
"What if someone hurt me suddenly?"
She imagined the accidents that could happen to her based on the things surrounding her. She felt very insecure and couldn't think of anything other than baleful things, and she soulfully craved solitude for a feeling of security.
She once wrote in her newsletter:
"Solitude is the most soulful feeling that gives a sense of security. Solitude is like the mother's womb, and the price of solitude is minimal, but many of our hearts will refuse to pay the price."
She went near her house but stopped there and sat on the park bench in her apartment. The sky was completely dark, which reminded her of the day when she got her first appreciation for her newsletter from the award committee at midnight, while she was standing on a park bench. On that day, she crazily decided to record her life on tape. She thought about what she had recorded, but didn’t remember it exactly. She remembered making CD copies of it. As her poetry of life became more melancholic day by day, she thought about revisiting the recording that would bring a little bit of memory back to her—a mix of every human emotion that, in the end, gave her hope.
A nine-year-old girl came there like a loner and sat alone on another bench in the park. From her face, it was visible that she was in a pathetic situation. The girl suddenly teared up a bit, which made the woman approach her with a mind to listen.
"Hey, is there anything that’s disturbing you? I can lend my ears to you, and if you don't want me to listen to your problem, I’m willing to not disturb you."
The girl said,
"I always wanted someone to listen to me, and there are heavy things to say."
The woman said,
"I might be the right person to hear the heavy things that you want to spill out of your mind."
The girl said,
"I feel there is no one for me. My parents don’t value my emotions, which might be silly for adults. But as parents, they should understand that my emotions are complex for my age, and there are many things."
The woman said,
"I can’t say that I fully understand your emotions, but I can say that I can relate to you because I had parents who didn’t understand the complex emotions of kids that well. As I grew up, it made me mature sooner, and it allowed me to learn many things like literature, politics, philosophy, art, etc.
I had parents who didn’t understand the complex emotions of a small girl, so it helped me turn into things that could make me intellectually superior. But some kids turn into a bad figure due to this kind of parenting. That’s why we say parenting is important.
Those kids might not have mentors to direct them the right way rather than the wrong way. So you need to be cautious of that.
And if there are no people to guide you on the right path, you need to mature soon to take care of yourself. Perhaps we can call that self-parenting.
Parents might be good, but they may not know how to direct intellectual kids. As a kid, you might get angry at them, but don’t hurt them. Their path might be wrong in terms of parenting, but they are not wrong.
I’m saying this because I had hurt them in my early teens, but in my mid-teens, I learned the way to teach them. At the start, you might tear up like this, but sooner or later, you will learn it. And I’m saying all this because I see myself in you."
They sat silent for a while and parted ways.
While the woman walked up the stairs filled with dim and semi-dim lights, she thought about her childhood in pictures in her head that related to the girl in the park. By now, she realised that she hadn’t asked the name of the girl, and as the woman saw through the window near the stairs, she noticed the small girl had already moved so far like everyone in her life does to her.
She slowly went upstairs like she always does till she reached the twelfth floor of the apartment because her flat is located on the corner of the twelfth floor.
The woman went near the door and checked her bag, where she usually keeps her key, but she couldn't find it, which led to an immediate rise in her heartbeat and this made her keep checking her bag for the key.
After checking for a long time, she decided to call the apartment manager for a spare key. She called the apartment manager, and the manager told her to visit her house, which is located in the D-block.
She walked through the dusty roads to get there fast because she had an urgency to urinate. The apartment manager was waiting outside her house and the manager told her,
"Sorry, I made you come here because I had important work and here's your key."
She received the key from the apartment manager with a face that showed discomfort due to the urgency to urinate.
The apartment manager asked,
"You don't look okay, is there any problem? May I help you? Don't be shy to ask for help."
She was not sure whether it was appropriate to ask the manager for help, but she couldn't control the urgency to urinate. She asked the manager,
"Madam, I need to use the washroom. Can I?"
The manager said,
"Surely, let me show you where it is. Come into our house, please."
She saw the house filled with artworks and ancient sculptures. The house was coloured with half yellow and half blue. There were sofas and the chairs were quite messy. There was a door on the right which may lead to another room where there would be people. There is another door on the left through which it leads to a bedroom.
The manager told her,
"There is an attached bathroom in that bedroom on the right side, you may use it."
After using the washroom, the woman came out and saw the girl she had met in the park sitting on the sofa with a middle-aged man who might be her father.
The manager told her,
"This is my daughter Rennameil, she is studying in the fourth standard, and her father is my husband Benjamin Lear. He works in the Artificial Intelligence sector in the Indifonia company, which is located in Finland, but he works online.
By the way, I am Rilke, who works in e-commerce websites, and I am the manager of this apartment. I heard that you are an award-winning critic, journalist and writer who doesn't come out a lot.
People around here talk about you in meetings because I have never seen you attending the meetings. We are glad to meet you, and may we know your name?"
The woman said,
"I am Annericia Reildr Francesca and you can call me 'Anne'. It is time for me to go. Bye!"
While she was moving outside, she saw the girl's eyes and for an instance, there was much more clarity than before which was visible through the eyes and the bravery was forging in her eyes.
The poetry of life lies in those who seek it through a different perspective, and there are people who help others discover those perspectives.
While she walked through the dark, lonely night, she thought about the girl. She was enticed by the idea of witnessing the impact of her words in real time.
She related the girl's life to her own — empathetically placing her memories into the child’s experience — and realized the importance of revisiting the old videotape she had recorded during one of the rare moments of happiness in her life.
The tape was a grey one with small holes in it. One type of hope had replaced the old one, yet it carried the same kind of damage.
There were parts that appeared brighter, but they too faded into another shade of grey. It was a mix of everything — and even after it had been digitized, the scars of old damage still remained, visibly.
She saw people partying in the streets and reacted unusually to it. She was not someone who socialized, but in her late teens, she had often imagined herself doing so. She still imagined it — but could never bring herself to actually do it.
She entered her house, saw the clock left to the door and opened her laptop in search of the old video.
The laptop contained few photos and even fewer videos — especially of her.
II
She connects her laptop to her television and plays the video of her.
The video loads and starts,
"Hello! I am Annericia Reildr Francesca, people call me 'Anne', and this video is myself documentation of my life.
Today I got an email from State Newsletter Awards, and they nominated me in the category 'Emerging Critic of the Year'. It was like a surreal moment to me. It is like an indication that the work that I am doing is not a wrong decision of my life and that I should continue to do this work without any hesitation hereafter.
It is my first appreciation from media. Before, I got appreciation only from people who read my newsletter, and as a college student, it is a pleasant feeling for me. My passion towards these works never stops, even till my last breath, because I chose the artist path of life which is only exposed by fewer people. If you choose that, you are going to go in the unique path than others—like these artistical paths—it will come with you till your grave. And if you fail or win, it doesn't caution your mind when you attain a point where doing the art is more enough for you than earning recognition.
It is important for all artists to realize this sooner, and earning recognition will make your mood a little more pleasant than the normal state of mind. Some might not realize it earlier, but I am so privileged that I realized it, and I think my purpose is to make people realize it. I am so scared that I might not.
I was born twenty-three years before the day I recorded this, and today is 20th March of 2014. I had a childhood in which I was misunderstood by many and loved by the same people for some reasons.
People, before being friends with me, construct a personality of mine which might totally or partially contrast my original personality, and it leads to the point where I am the most hated person of that person's life.
One or two people address themselves as a friend of mine. There was an annoying person whose family is very close to mine, which made him quote me as a friend of his—but he is the most annoying, dumb, indecent, mad, useless, good for nothing, and not so what. I am not in touch with him, but I heard people saying that he changed a lot. But I couldn't believe it because of the traumatic things that happened to me due to the person and he is only person who calls me Annericia, he is called as MBJ by people around him but I call him 'Sonite'. Also I had a female friend who is a lawyer, a classmate who is died due to accident at a young age, a family friend named Harrisburg Forssesse who is now a well-known business, another friend named Irriseses Macaques who is a teacher in a high school in my town and her brother is a broken person.
I also have a brother who is into politics after his voluntary retirement, he took pursued some religious activity with group of people, then he joined KMC one of the political party, and I have criticized him so badly—more than any person.
My parents are good in terms of their soul, but they didn't know how to grow me up because of their lack of information. But my brother always says that it is due to my personality, which he acclaims as 'Chaotic'. I realized that I had hurt them a lot unintentionally, but my problem is that I am not good at paying gratitude and apologizing to the people that I am so close with. But I am so skilled in terms of regretting.
I see people around me who have a very great social life, which I didn't have from the start of my life. I accepted that it's my personality, but I still desire for some. But I couldn't.
I had been truthful and original in every point of my life. I couldn't be anymore, because I faced severe consequences for being that. I have been telling this to myself for a long time, but I didn't change a bit.
There are many people like me who consider themselves as the most misunderstood ones and as outsiders.
I had been writing newsletters since when I was fourteen, and I had a good connection with a person who develops websites. Through him, I designed myself a website where I post my newsletter. Once in a year, I develop the quality of newsletter presentation as my newsletter becomes popular and technological advancements occur in this world.
I had cleared the exams with a good percentage so that I could convince my parents that I could study journalism and many online courses. I am not sure that I will get a job that I might like, so I would like to continue my writing profession, or I might do some work and do this for the passion of doing it.
That is all I wanted to tell in this video, and I will record one when I need to record it."
As the screen fades, we can see the mix of various emotions on the face of Anne.
As the time reaches ten at night, she starts writing her newsletter on various things with a coffee. For the next few years, she sees that she earned a good amount from it.
She checks her phone. There are a few mails, and there is an important mail from the college where she works as a lecturer who teaches students about journalism—but she more often diverts from topic to topic. The mail says that they approved her request for doing work from home.
The college that she worked at before had the option to teach from home, but the newly joined college doesn't have it. So she requested it, as she is one of the highest-paid lecturers.
There are also many calls from her mother, but she would have slept now, so Anne decides not to call her. She likes to stay out of social media, but as her work is very connected to social media, she couldn't. Except her mother, she is not connected to anyone in her family, and she insisted her mother not to give her number to anyone.
While writing, she researches to the very minute details about every news related to politics, movies, books—and she gives new interpretations for information in a unique way which made her readers engage more.
After her writing process completes, she reads books for a few hours. Then she orders a few books on a shopping app—even though only a few days before, a set of books reached her house which is not yet unwrapped. Then she watches a film or series on her TV till she sleeps.
She wakes up at ten in the morning. She gets ready and has the same coffee while she is making notes for the class on the table in the hall, while music plays from her TV. At twelve in the morning, she sets up everything in the hall. She starts taking the class from her laptop, and after the class gets over, she makes herself some food to eat.
While she is taking her food in, she thinks about the days when she ate a lot—when she was ten or something around that age. She thinks of calling her mom, so she takes her phone from the place she kept it the last night in her working room.
There are a few calls from her mother, and she tries to call her mother—but her doorbell rings. She throws her phone on the couch and goes to receive the person at the doorstep.
It was the mother and daughter that she met the day before. Rilke said,
"Hello! Sorry if we are disturbing you. Are you engaged with any work?"
Anne was in terror by this unusual experience she is having currently and said,
"Nah—No, you are no—not a disturbance, and I was just free. It will be more satisfying if you get into my house."
She says the formal welcoming note with a mask on her face for survival mechanics, and she notices the red box in their hand. As they both sit, she brings coffee for both of them. Rilke said,
"The coffee is very pleasant to have in this nippy weather. The reason for the arrival is that tomorrow is Rennameil's birthday, so we are celebrating in my parents' house, and we are leaving tonight. Before that, we decided to give our friends here the cake."
Anne's eyes glow more at the astonishing events and said,
"Happy birthday, Rennameil!"
She thinks what to give and said,
"Can you wait for a few minutes?"
She went inside the room and sees the package of books. She opens it and decides to give No Exit and Three Other Plays by Sartre. She thinks that this is a perfect book to present to Rennameil, and she already had many versions of that play but bought this one for the hardcover edition.
She got out from the room and continues,
"A small present for you. It is a good book, and you should read. I read it when I was in sixth grade. Will you read it?"
She gives the book as she speaks. Rilke said,
"It is not necessary for you to give any gift, but on birthdays, we can't say no. This seems an expensive one, and it seems like you bought it recently."
Anne said,
"I already have many versions of this. And don't care about the price. When someone reads the book you give, when someone feels the same thing you felt when you read that work by your recommendation—it is a greater feeling which couldn't be expressed. My way of sharing love is through giving the books I loved."
Rennameil thanked her and gave the red box while leaving. While they left, Anne sees the clock near the door, and it's already four in the evening. She rushed to get dressed and go to the small town for walking.
III
She walked in a silent path, with the sunlight from the sun which might set anytime from now. The mild ray of the sunlight fell in her eyes, and it shiningly reflected the unfiltered beauty of her sable eyes. Her beauty was reflected to the world by the way the sun saw her, and the beauty of her became poetrical by the rays of sunlight, but she couldn't see the way the sun made her beautiful — she could feel it through the mild heat of care.
She walked around the small town for sightseeing the nature. She saw many places that enticed her taste buds of scenery viewing, and at last, she ended up going inside the café that she usually visits where her cousin brother works.
Her cousin always talked to her whenever she visited that café, but he didn’t come yet, and it was an unusual signal.
A waitress came and attended her.
“Oh! It is you, Anne. I thought it was somebody else, so I came to ask for the order. The coffee will be right here in a few seconds.”
Anne’s mind was debating whether to ask her where her cousin was or not, and after a few seconds, she stood up and asked,
“May I know where Dukefino, my cousin brother, is? He is the chef here.”
The waitress said, “He went to his native place to attend a marriage.”
She said it suddenly and went off.
Without drinking the coffee, Anne walked out of the café, thinking about whose marriage he went to. As she walked, she saw an airplane going to the east, which made her remember that an important marriage was going to happen in their family, but she forgot the date.
She checked her pocket for her phone but realized she had forgotten it at her house. It was time for her to rush back home.
She ran through places where there were no people on the road as the sun set, and while she passed people, she walked slowly with her face downwards but still observed everything that was happening around her.
She went into the home and searched for her phone. She checked in her room, her bookshelf, and finally found the phone between the couch cushions in the hall.
She called her mom, and her mom said, “Hey! I didn’t call you in the morning because I was busy with the marriage work for our Sushmunshi. When will you be reaching? Did you book the train route that travels twelve hours or the one that takes fifteen?”
She remembered that Sushmunshi was her cousin sister, and she was scared to ask for the date because she couldn’t remember it.
Her mom asked,
“Will you come tonight? We need to do some work for tomorrow’s marriage. As it is early in the morning, everything should be arranged by tonight.”
Anne replied,
“I will try to be there as early as possible, perhaps in the morning.”
Her mom said,
“You already missed the marriage of the elder ones because you were busy with your work. Don’t miss this one and you didn't visit our city in the past few years. Your ignorance to this city and the people of it might lead a chaotic relationship of you with this world.”
Anne said, “I’ll try not to miss this one.”
While she was talking to her mother about her wellness, a voice came from the outside.
“Mother!”
It was her brother.
Suddenly, she became silent as she heard his voice.
Her mom asked, “Are you still angry at him for choosing politics? Actually, that decision was good. He is doing a great job, and he is with me. He said you won some award and he always asks about you.”
She didn’t reply for a few minutes and said, “A politician who allocates money for some stupid ideas can’t be a good man just because he stays with his mother and cares a bit for his sister.”
She cut the call while her mother was still speaking. It was not a sign of disrespect, but a sign of ignorance.
Her legs slightly shivered. She sat down on the couch, figuring out how to handle the situation, even though she had tackled such things before. She blinked a lot and decided to get on the next train before it got too late.
She ensured that she packed everything she needed, from small accessories to dresses to books.
She actually got a seat on the train, but it was a little expensive due to the delay in booking. Still, if she didn’t go, it would create a lot of trouble for her.
She got on the train. There were many people around her at the railway station. The train started moving, and she got a separate cabin for herself, but people kept coming and going, which made her head spin a bit.
She started reading. She wrote a few sentences. She calculated the time she would reach. She was sure she wouldn’t make it to the marriage; it would definitely be late. Her priority now was to reach the marriage hall before it got too late because she was certain she was going to miss the wedding ceremony, which was scheduled for early morning.
She slept a little late and woke up five minutes before the train reached the railway station.
The time was now eight in the morning. She booked a cab and waited for its arrival, shivering a little due to the rain which was drizzling, adding chillness to the atmosphere.
She went to the marriage hall to check whether the ceremony was over or not. As expected, the marriage was over by the time the cab reached. She entered the hall, where no one was left except the stamped rose petals. On the east side of the wall, straight opposite the big gateway door, there was a cross-shaped window carved into the wall. The sunlight entered through it, and Anne stepped toward the east, stamping on the rose petals with her feet. She removed her shoes and walked to the place where the sunlight came into the room through the cross on the window.
She knelt down there — even though she didn’t have faith in God or even godliness — and believed that this world was filled only with bad people. There might be good people, but a bad person can’t be good, and a good person can’t be bad. She couldn’t accept the uncertainty of people throughout her life.
When she stood up, she stepped on a large prickle of a rose with her dirty foot. The flow of blood which came afterward made her realize how deep the blockage was. With pain, she picked up the prickle, placed it into her purse in the backpack, and the blood washed away the dirt from her foot.
She slowly walked in search of water, holding her shoes in her hand alongside the pain. The tap was behind the east wall. She opened the tap, washed away the blood along with the dirt, and wore her shoes while supporting herself against the backside of the east wall of the marriage hall.
She went outside of the marriage hall, her phone rang in her bag, she took her phone out of her bag, it was her mother who called her and she attended the call after few seconds of thinking.
Her mom said,
"Hello Anne! Your presence is missing here and all other family members are bashing us with notorious words due to your carelessness to our family. Where are you currently? Will you at least come to the party hall?"
Anne said,
"Firstly, I don't know why are they bashing you for my carelessness, it might be the way this society sees the people who prioritise their work and by few minutes I will be there."
Mom harshly said,
"I am not asking to criticize the societal systems and I asked you where you are."
Anne said,
"Before 20 minutes, I was in the railway station and now I am in the marriage hall which our family usually uses. By the way, this marriage hall doesn't have proper management of cleaning and I can't see anyone here."
Through the phone she can hear that they are talking about the cake and drinks to buy.
Once he turned his face, they both parted away as the personal assistant moves towards mom and he moves towards her without noticing her due to his busyness of political affairs in his mobile phone.
She saw him loitering in the garden backside of the party hall which is visible through the small window on the right side of the room she is standing.
She was noticed by her mom and her mom welcomed her with fake laughs. All of them around her mom, welcomes her and investigates her wellness with continuous talking because of this she couldn't understand any of the things the people tells.
Her mom tries to call her alone for few words,
"You know what you caused here?"
She said with seeing outside through the windows on the left side and there is no window on the right side of the room,
"I don't know what I caused but I know that I am here before the actual party starts."
While her mother starts to talk, few people from the crowd take her for the arrangement of the party and her mother said to Anne,
"While anybody speaking to you, at least keep your head in the direction facing to them rather than seeing the sceneries outside the windows from the hall that is filled with interesting people."
She left while Anne laughed inside herself for the usage of the word 'Interesting people!'.
After they cut the cake, they distributed it, she got a plate of a cake piece which will be accompanied with soft drinks, the place was noisy and crowded, this made her move to the room where less people are there which will make her more comfortable.
Almost everyone stayed in the main party room for partying, she always hated the parties because she never attended more than one or two, she leaned in the sill of the window and kept her plate which had cake in the sill.
She watched the unfiltered beauty of the nature through the closed window and drank the soft drinks slowly.
She kept her soft drink in the sill and tried to lift the window up but she couldn't as it is not lift up for too long. She tried very hard but couldn't, suddenly a hand held the rails of the window near her hand and that had lifted the window.
The person said,
"Annericia! Do you remember Mandires Breesonite Jacobics? Who is I think your friend from your childhood who you might hate a lot. Do you remember?"
He came into her sight as the window slides up and the sunlight falls in her face slowly.
She turned a bit diagonal to see him, when the window is fully locked up, he slowly turned towards her with adjusting his coat and looked in her eyes while his pupil widened a bit, she thinks it is due to the sunlight that fell in his eyes, which might made his eyes widened a bit.
Anne stayed without moving or even speaking a word out of her mind.
Mandires Breesonite Jacobics said,
"I understand that your unwillingness is due to my behaviour in my past but does it meant for people to live as a same person forever or they have ground for change from the person they were been like Gendarmerie MBJ.
You might know him very close and personal. I doesn't feel to prove himself by vocalizing his change in life with the help of dictionary or any other person rather he feels that he need to show how much he changed from his past.
Only the people who saw him when he was a ugly person by heart can identify the biggest changes in his way of behaviour.
He never stays with people who doesn't want him to be with them rather he just walks away from them even he wants to talk to them because they might see him as a notorious person from his past than rather tries to analyse how much as a person he changed."
He slowly stepped a single step backward with a smile of melancholy, he took a sip of drink with moving another step backward and said,
"He also stays when the person wants to talk with him, if that person is open to understand him even it is impossible, if that person have some kind of empathy remaining in their heart to understand another person's emotional change and he goes if they see him the same old person because of their conservative nature, I don't know whether my usage of the word 'Conservative nature' a right one or should I use the word 'stereotypical person' PERHAPS! PERHAPS! PERHAPS!"
As he said the words he stepped a step backward with turning toward that face of the room, a sudden voice came from the back of him, as he turned he saw her folding her hands, standing in ray of the light with seeing downwards and he asked,
"Did you hear the sound? Perhaps it's my illusion, let me go from here."
Anne said,
"It's not illusion because I feel the consciousness of telling you to stop from my mouth and I am sure that I am not a subject to psychological disorders yet. I think I called you, therefore you heard it, there it's not an illusion and we do exist, Mr. Sonite."
IV
Sonite and Anne moves away from sunlight as it is becoming so hot, Sonite wants to be away from sunlight but Anne likes to be in the presence of sunlight.
Anne doesn't say it aloud that she wants to stand near window but her face suggests that her inner mind is oscillating within her inner conflicts which leads to extreme dilemma for her by her uncomfortable look which is showcased by her trembling hands which is handspicking the thread from the handbag in her shoulder, shaking legs and the unwillingness to maintain the eye contact at certain points as the eyes moves all around the place not for observation but due to her social anxiety which might arise at any point of time even when she is comfortable. Even in the comfortable places in comfortable times in comfortable point of life, a single raise of spark of conflict that might lead to social anxiety, the conflict doesn't seems to be a bigger one from the perspective of others but from the perspective of her this small spark of conflict might seems to be a bigger thread for her from proceeding the future works of her and as she gives unconformable gestures, she might caught suspicious by Sonite.
Sonite asked,
"It seems that our movement towards the window would be a better way to make us feel soothing and the rights for making of this decision lies in your captivating pamps."
Anne for few minutes at start felt uncomfortable being here but as his words raises from his throat, she feels the safeness by him and said,
"It is okay for me to sta-stay in this place and I respect your opinion by accepting whatever you says next."
She conveys her acceptance with a face that doesn't accept the option of staying away from window, Sonite detects that it and said with smiling sarcastically like taking food from teeth,
"Then as you accept my opinion, I would encourage to stay here and Annericia! Is it okay for you to stay here? Be honest and share your opinion."
Anne after few minutes of moving her legs uncontrollably without maintenance of eye contact at certain points with moving her head without her knowledge, at certain points she burst out and said rapidly without a pause in a single sound of word,
"I wants to move to the window, I feel more comfortable and soothing in the nearby window rather than in this place."
She heavily breath after bursting out, as the people come for giving some drinks to them, Sonite took a glass for him and Anne with a eyes that contains the love and care for other human beings which is encourageable in human beings as it is an introspection of human beings to conclude their vision of virtue which is subjective. His care doesn't seems to get her or social acceptance rather it is the reflection of is refined heart.
Sonite said with giving the glass and moving toward the window slowly step by step,
"Here is the drink for you, take some time it gets back your air then drink this drink with the patience so that we can talk more about the ongoings of our life and we could discuss a bit without intervening your privacy if doesn't have bad concerns on doing it."
She went near the window, seeing out at the nature, taking some air in and said,
"See how beautiful this nature is over here, how can I reject to share some few words with a man who is redeemed from his past in this beautiful place where there are traces of bad people her but I am so grateful to find an acquaintance of a changed man who is completely different from the life he had in his past."
Sonite said,
"After a very long time, I am listening Annericia speaking more than twenty-two words and I think the magical realism of the poetry of life lies on making feel-good acquaintance."
Anne listens to him while seeing outside and said,
"What is your perspective or perhaps the defination of feel good acquaintance?"
Sonite saw her eyes which was looking out and said,
"My perspective of feel good acquaintance is the one which transforms our principals of life, might be the one that makes us feel that our perspective of world is wrong, my definition might sound suffering but you the reality of feel good is the feeling of feel goodness which extends overtime due to the impact of that acquaintance."Anne asked,
"Did you ever had an acquaintance which had an impact over your life which might changed you like this from the past?"
Sonite said as he she the unfiltered beauty of Anne's sable eyes which was seeing the beauty of nature,
"Well! I had an acquaintance with a person who is the person sparked the search for redemption in mind at initial stages of my life where I started understand my understanding of this world is an illusion and after the acquaintance with that person I understood that everything is the illusion which is created by our perspectives, the person who I can say help me to redeemed from my past notorious activities, the person taught me the way to see the poetrical ascetics in this world."
She asked,
"Are you connected with that person even now?"
He said with a voice that showcases the pain of longing,
"Some acquaintances meant to be just a single meeting or only lasts for few days but the impact will be more and the unforgettable moments leave a person with grief filled the heart which doesn't colonialize the heart that damages it rather the grief turns out to be a spark for the redemption. Also I think knowing a person is depth is a not an appreciable act until the godliness gives you it. (He points out to the deep forest which is far away from them) You see there a forest right? The forest seems a perfect, aesthetical, beautiful, perhaps poetrical or best visuals but if you go deep inside the forest you find the awful nature of it by the poisonous animals, plants and the chaotic reality of it, that is how human beings are from outside perspective they might seems a perfect one but when we actually communicate with them with our heart and become a friend like person, we will find a person who is very chaotic which is the nature of human, this will not be accepted by many people until you have the openness to recieve informations about other perspectives, the love towards other person will be known whether a true one when we accept the flawed nature of people, which is a unacceptable by many human beings due to the closeness for recieving other perspectives from other people."
She suddenly turns towards him seeing his eyes, she stood with any reaction expect the reaction of recieving a new perspective which might be different to her, rns back and it turns out to be her Aunt Missioninso, who is also common aunt to Sonite as well.
Aunt asked,
"How is your life going Anne? Is your writings are going well? I heard that you got some award from something which I couldn't remember."
Anne said,
"Every works are going at best to the atom of that work."
Anne doesn't talk much than this as she did many times in the past, which is hated by many people around her and Aunt said,
"I saw you talking to Mandires who is currently one of the important officer in the crime branch of the government"
Anne's face changes as she didn't accept that he could have did these things in life.
Anne asked,
"How could a person like him could have did this in life?"
Aunt said,
"I thought that you understood that he had changed a lot in his life but even after these many years you couldn't forget the things in did in his past, you didn't understand that change is a only inevitable in human life after the continuous sorrows in life that a person could come across like a died of few people, people leaving that person, failed in almost everything, losing faith in anything, trying to find the inner purpose of life, the self-realization through these processes could change a person from becoming a local thug to a higher officer, from a person who could have became a the worst enemy of this society to the good friend of this society. He had involved in all the undesirable and damaging activities without even knowing that it is a sin to life, his redemption is through becoming a better person who forgives, helps, redeem from the woeful past and decide to work for the redemption of this woeful society. After the died of his father who is the highly acclaimed politician you might know very well, he was killed by a friend of him in the streets where is was coming back from the school of psychological bend of philosophy school, where many people go to meet Professor Ekbrahim Satre Paul Alkitson, who is well known person in this society, after his father's died he lost all the money and few people left him like many of the relatives and friends, it shows how woeful this society was then Professor helped him to do something in life but he didn't reach him anything rather than providing shelter and food, everything was learnt by him through the process of understanding the real world around him, which might have traumatism him because of the woefulness in this society, his self-realization process started there, he went to every place to find the true self of him and he doesn't share the changes in him to anyone but people knows that after he came back, he was a reformed person and he joined in the government in crime branch, it was unbelievable that a person who indulged in criminal activities to a person to work in the crime branch and it is because of.."
She went as a crowd of people came and took her, Anne asked,
"Tell me the remaining before you go, please."
But the Aunt went as the people took her within a blink of eye.
Sonite cameback with refilled drinks in his hands, she sees the person with a calm face, a eyes that speaks more than the mouth, she sees a person who comes out from the crowd in the beautiful manner and the way he looks now changes, it things that it might be due to the change of perspective which makes people graceful and beautiful. She said,
"Thank you for getting me this drink, Sonite!"
His eyebrows raised due to the shock that she started the conversation for the first time, he slowly steps towards the window, leaning in it, seeing the outside and said,
"If it is possible for you to tell me what happening in your life, you can share your life-happenings with me by your vocals and It will be very soothing for me to listen."
She too saw the scenary when he was seeing her and said,
"I am just existing with doing the works I like to do everyday in my life for the past few years."
As the party goes on, few people came and stood near the door of the main door.
She continued,
"I am not very comfortable sharing my life-happenings due to the insecurity, perhaps. Why don't you tell about yours?"
He said,
"I joined in crime branch in the government few years back after cracking the examination. I live in a lonely house which is near to the new crime branch office, which was built near the park and sometimes I go there to spend some time with my thoughts."
A voice raised from the main room,
"Mandires Joco
Sonite and Anne move away from sunlight as it is becoming so hot. Sonite wants to be away from sunlight, but Anne likes to be in the presence of sunlight.
Anne doesn't say aloud that she wants to stand near the window, but her face suggests that her inner mind is oscillating within her inner conflicts, which leads to extreme dilemma for her. Her uncomfortable look is showcased by her trembling hands, which are handpicking the thread from the handbag on her shoulder, shaking legs, and the unwillingness to maintain eye contact at certain points, as her eyes move all around the place—not for observation but due to her social anxiety, which might arise at any point of time, even when she is comfortable. Even in comfortable places, in comfortable times, at comfortable points in life, a single spark of conflict might lead to social anxiety. The conflict doesn't seem to be a big one from the perspective of others, but from her perspective, this small spark of conflict might seem to be a bigger thread preventing her from proceeding with her future works. As she gives uncomfortable gestures, she might be caught as suspicious by Sonite.
Sonite asked,
"It seems that our movement towards the window would be a better way to make us feel soothing, and the rights for making this decision lie in your captivating palms."
Anne, for a few minutes at the start, felt uncomfortable being here, but as his words rise from his throat, she feels the safeness by him and said,
"It is okay for me to sta-stay in this place, and I respect your opinion by accepting whatever you say next."
She conveys her acceptance with a face that doesn't accept the option of staying away from the window. Sonite detects that and said with a smile, sarcastically like taking food from teeth,
"Then as you accept my opinion, I would encourage you to stay here. Annericia! Is it okay for you to stay here? Be honest and share your opinion."

She suddenly turns towards him, seeing his eyes. She stood without any reaction except the reaction of receiving a new perspective, which might be different to her. There are many words processed in her brain but she could not express anything. She is in a position of dilemma where she could accept or reject it, but she tends to forget it in order to make it a bit normal conversation like people around her do, which she doesn't want to make but does without a valid reasoning to it.
She said,
"Does the redemption make you more philosophical?"
He moves to refill the drink, saying,
"That's why they call it a redemption."
She stood there for a few minutes. She notices a woman coming towards her without seeing in that direction. Her face slowly changes due to terror. A hand calls her from the back by tapping. With extreme fear, she turns back, and it turns out to be her Aunt Missioninso, who is also a common aunt to Sonite as well.
Aunt asked,
"How is your life going, Anne? Are your writings going well? I heard that you got some award from something which I couldn't remember."

A voice raised from the main room,
"Mandires Jocobics!"
He said,
"I think they need help of mine, won't you mind if I go now?"
She answered "YES" through her eyes and her hands that float in the air.
She leaned herself to the window, seeing the unfiltered beauty of the nature and questioning about her life. She thinks whether the things she is doing are right or wrong, but always she ends up getting the answer that is very familiar to people she is connected to, the answer is, "Whatever I do is the most correct thing to do."
She stands there seeing the green leaves fall from the tree that was way taller than usual trees, which was not meant to fall in this period of its life but falls due to some unavoidable circumstances of the weather conditions.
She slowly tracks the leaf that dances while falling from the altitude. She sees the most aesthetic death, which is the death of the leaf. The leaf slowly floats in the sky while it comes down; it becomes static when it reaches the ground. She sees a leg with bloodshed on it step on the leaves. The man carries an axe in his hand which is bloodshed completely, and the drops of the blood fall on the leaf on the ground.
She sees that her brother is crawling with heavy blood loss; it seems it is due to the attack by someone. Her heartbeat raises due to it. She sees the man with the axe goes to beat her brother, who was bathed with litres of blood. She closes the window suddenly as that man goes to beat him. She went into the party room where relatives of hers were dancing. Her hands were trembling a lot. She swallows a lot and sweats more than usual. The terror in her eyes increases, which made her brain to rewind the gore that happened there. She couldn't hear anyone or see anyone because her brain was fully engaged in the rewind of the memories of murder. Everybody around her enjoys so that she is unnoticed.
She went into the bathroom, she washes her face, she was not tearing but was in terror. She sits there without thinking anything in the bathroom due to the gore that she saw there, which made her heart uncomfortable. She breathes heavily with her full heart, she washed her face and wiped the wetness completely out of her face.
V
She stood in the bathroom for a few minutes. As time passes, the sound outside the room decreases, but there is a constant noise that comes from people from there. Her heart is unwilling to go out because she knew how her mother would react. Her heart keeps racing up and down as the moment of gore that was captured by her brain keeps playing again and again.
She went near the door to enter the party hall from the bathroom. She took a deep breath; even that couldn't help her in reducing the shivering of her body. She kept her hand on the knob, and her brain keeps playing those moments in her mind.
She unlocks the door with her fingers. With a shivering hand, she opens the door. Her eyes are so tired, but she tries to make it normal, and she didn't want others to know that her brother died before the news naturally comes to people.
She came out. Aunt Missioninso came near her with a lot of tears in her eyes, and Anne asked,
"Won't you mind if I ask you the reason for the tears from your eyes?"
Aunt took her handkerchief to wipe the tears and said,
"I saw this person growing from childhood, and it is really sad that I am going to miss the nearby existence of the person."
Her heartbeat raises as she thinks that everyone came to know about the death of her brother, but she doesn't know why she feels like this, which she never felt before. She saw her mother coming from the doorway with a face that doesn't carry any sadness or grief nor pain, and she keeps seeing her mother.
Her Aunt said,
"We know that there are ways to connect with Sushmunshi, but even though we feel some kind of pain of leaving her, we are so grateful that she chose a life which is good for her."
Her Aunt left, but Anne stayed there without any movement for many minutes, longer than anyone could be, she couldn't feel that there is a world around her, she couldn't see a visuals in that place.
Her mother talking with many people while she walked in the room, went toward her with her brother's PA and said,
"If you doesn't want to be here anymore, you could leave from here any minute from now."
She went didn't refuse to the offer and asked the PA with a low voice,
"Is there train available by today?"
Her mother interrupted and said,
"My intention is to make you stay in our house for few more days but if your choice is to go, I couldn't stop you and if it is assigned for you to stay here by author of the world, not couldn't stop the intentions of the godly power."
The Personal Assistant said,
"Well, if you want to go by now, the trains are available and you can go by anytime."
Anne said,
"I would like to .."
Before she completes the things that she wanted to express, the police came in and took the PA seperately to another room as it is a confidential matter.
All the people in the room is infected by the terror of people which spread way faster and the murmur sound of gossips raised more second by second as the conversation of them in the separate room continuous. Her mother wasn't gave much reaction to the events that occuring as it is not very new for her, she had experienced those moments back in her life but if she comes to know this matter her reaction will become worse than of anything in the world and Anne's mind is thinking about the various possibilities of her mother's reaction in her mind, every possibility makes her heart so heavy.
The PA came slowly with a bit of tears in his eyes, her mom's happiness fades slowly and she asked with a voice that has fear of terror on it,
"What happened, is-is there any-anything wrong?"
The PA with tears flowing on the floor and went outside. Anne's mom shouted with a terror in her voice and fear that conquered her mind,
"Don't step out without telling me the reason for the tears that flows over here."
The higher level of police came to her mom and told her a voice of consolidating,
"Your son Mrs. Jeromithh was brutally attacked and killed a person near the pond in the forest nearby this. We will help you with everything that have to be done."
Her mother shouted, kneeled in the place with the tears that was overflowing and shouted,
"I doesn't want anyone or your freaking help."
She placed her head on the floor while crying with the pain that raised from this news that she never thought about in her life time, the tears formed almost a flood, she couldn't feel her breath, her body totally shaking with the terror of it, people made her to sit in a place, she couldn't able to open her mouth, the only task that she could do it to cry from her because of the loss the person for whose arrival she was stepping out of the shell of her life even if she would lose the life of her and that is the cause for her overflowing tears on the ground.
Anne stood still without moving any part of body, her mother was helped by people around her to move and Anne couldn't even move a bit seeing the tears of her mother on the ground
The tears of her reached the place where Jeromithh was killed as she walked with the help of the PA, his body was placed on the rock nearby the river, the body was facing the east direction, she couldn't see his face at all, the river turned red as his blood as being flowing down there for so long, the police blocked the mother from seeing him because of the condition of his body, mother cried and shouted,
"Please let me in!"
Her whole face was wet due to the tears that reached the ground, a mild drizzle fell on the ground as the message of the nature in order to send heartfelt condolences on the died a good person who dedicated his life for the redemption of this woeful society.
The sun was about to set, Anne with the help of her Aunt and Sonite went to that place. Anne refused and said,
"I doesn't want to see, please don't make me in this position!"
Her heartbeat raises, she is a strong woman but she is also scared to see him and they made her go there even she refuses. Her mother was crying on the ground, she saw that her brother's body was lying on the rock, the place was filled with forensic and police people.
She came little closer, as the people moved away, she saw her brother lying on the rock, the sun behind her brother set slowly as the police closes his face for futher procedure that at to be done, her mother's voice became more louder than before, the sun fully set as they carried her brother's body away, all the people went to see her brother but all of them was asked to come to the hospital for further procedure, no one notices her standing in the solitary in that place, she teared a bit after along time without the feeling of crying and the drizzles turned to a downpour.
VI
She stood motionless in the same place even in the heavy rain, Sonite saw her standing there in the rain, he jumped out of his car and went towards her.
Sonite asked,
"What are you doing Anne? Come let us go to the hospital."
He went near her to lead the way but she refused to get near him and Sonite asked,
"I can't say that I understand this sad situation of yours but I too had those experiences and I would like to help people recover faster from it."
She stood there motionless and Sonite said,
"If you stand here in this heavy rain, you might infect from fever or any other viruses, please come let us go and help your mother in the hospital."
He almost cried a bit for her and Anne said,
"I couldn't see the face of my mother after she losing her son whom she raised with love and care. I would emotionally tarnished by seeing the extreme emotions of my mother, her sadness is contagious which infects me."
She cried and shouted,
"I couldn't come!"
Sonite touched her shoulders in order hold her weak body,
"Please come to the hospital, even there are many people around her but without a daughter to accompany a mother could not accomplish anything! Anything!"
Anne stepped backwards and slowly sat in her car. He offered her a towel to dry her up before she even thinks of drying herself. While traveling near the party hall, he switch on the heater and he asked her,
"Do you need to take anything from the party hall? I think you had a bad."
She said,
"Yes, I have the bag where I have all the things that I need and I need it."
She sat in the car, her went outside the car for taking the bag and Anne asked,
"Let me come with you for taking the bag."
Sonite turned back and said,
"Already you are soaked wet, you dry yourself and I will take it."
She started to say how the bag looks and he said,
"A sleek ladies’ handbag made of deep navy blue canvas, splashed with bold floral patterns in crimson, mustard, and teal. The fabric is slightly textured, giving it a rich, earthy feel. Gold zippers and a dark leather handle add elegance. It’s vibrant yet classy — like midnight blooming with wildflowers. Am I correct?"
She nodded her head and he went. She opened the car's glove box, she saw his paper documents and keys. Beside that she saw the photo of his parents, she took it up and down of it, she saw the photo that they all in their colony took when they were small. She closed it and awaits for his arrival with the bag.
He came back with a water bottle in his hand, she got into the driver seat, gave the bottle to her gentle and said,
"You didn't drink water for so long, I thought you might want it. Do you want to a have a sip?"
She wants water but her stubborn brain which always thinks in independent nature tries to refuse, then after few minutes, her deep thirst for water made her seek the beauty of inter-dependence.
After Anne took the bottle, Sonite said,
"The poetical beauty of inter-dependence depends on the way we seek it in the life which might seems a hopeless one."
They both didn't smile at each other as the situation suggests not to do it but deep inside their mind if they were set in a different situation, they would smile at each other with the open heart that would create a small heat between them, the obstacle for the creation of the heat between them is their childhood experiences, their personality and the situation that they locked into on the present time of them.
They didn't even looked at each other throughout the travel to hospital as they detected something that shouldn't happen, she looked outside the window, all she could see is the murder of her brother but she didn't wanted to say to anyone that she saw that her brother was killed by someone, the reason is reasonless in the uncertainty of life. Sonite was only seeing the road and doesn't talked her or even see her.
While driving Anne felt a discomfort in the bright light inside the car, she didn't expressed her discomfort but by notices it Sonite dimmed the car light without talking or seeing her. They didn't talked to each other but communicated somehow, perhaps through their souls or perhaps through their eyes but communicating through eyes isn't possible as they didn't share sight of them even once of twice throughout the travel, the evidences of their ride suggests that there were something blooming which shouldn't and couldn't be from their perception.
Sonite stopped the car, he saw the road in order to avoid seeing her, shallows and said with frequent deep breaths between the words,
"Annericia, this is the hospital and you know where to go."
The grief was evident in Sonite's facial expressions, Anne who was seeing another side slowly turned towards him and said with the words which dipped slowly one by one as she sees him,
"Yes! I know where to go Son...."
She stepped outside of the car without speaking to him, suddenly a crowd of police came toward him whom took him somewhere she doesn't know and she steps toward the right without even knowing where she is going but she knows that somehow she would reach the place she was meant to reach.
She notices around her a various emotions from different kinds of people who had their own justification or story that made them to stay her, she saw a lonely man sitting silently with tears in his face who cried all by himself without infecting his sadness to other people around him, she noticed a kid siting with wheelchair smiling with hoping for another beam of sunlight to rise atleast a time again, she observed that a group of tearful eyes surrounding a doctor whose behind there was door where a person is getting treated, as she walks she saw a person with broken leg standing by himself with a help of a splint who refuses the help of the nurse by indicating that he doesn't need by his hands raised in a hopeful manner, she noticed that a woman broke down and fell in the floor crying heavily the woman might had hurt herself too, she noticed a man who cried heavily in the chair, she noticed a girl in white dress going into the operation theatre with a small smile who disappeared into the light, she noticed that the people around her holding back there tears and falsely smiled in ethical and moral for the angel who disappeared into the light, which came out of the operation theatre.
Anne was busy noticing those things which leads to the colloidal with another person, Anne raised her hands and apologized.
The other person's eyes widened as he recognised that she is the sister of him and he said,
"You are very similar to Jerom's sister. May I know whether you are Annanicia?"
She said,
"I look very similar to Jerom's sister because I am her only sister named 'Annericia'."
The man said with deep breath,
"Sorry for you brother's murder and also for mispronouncing your name. By the way, I am K Muian Chishtitey, it will be very good call me KMC which is indirectly refers to the party name and I am the leader of it whom you had criticized, actually bashed, in your newsletter."
He laughed a bit but maintained the sadness deep in her heart. She rubbed her back neck then said,
"It was just a criticism and I hope you doesn't show your power to me because you can kill the writer, not the writings nor the ideas, those divine art is inevitable even when the artist's body evitable and the soul of inevitable through the art."
He chuckled and said,
"I actually read the article and agree with you in some points. I am a politician, I like the people you bashes me in their newslatter, your article points out few important things in this political tensions from a common man perspective and other articles of yours gives a different perspective to various things."
A group of people carrying a person in stretcher comes towards them and they both parted away to give them space to go. After the crow moved, beside the politician Sonite appeared, the sudden sight of Sonite made Anne anxious which led to a extreme raise in her heartbeat and but the small touch of Sonite in her shoulders for making her move to give space for another person who came in that path which is filled with people all over, and the touch of him made her hearts back to normal stage.
Sonite became a bit nervous and steady after a second the said,
"I have an important news that Jeromithh had registered for Deceased Organ Donation and made it compulsory even the family members wouldn't agree in his will, they can't stop. If we want to see him for the last time, the last time is very sooner than twenty-two minutes and we need to rush."
They all rushed towards the place, on the way to their place, Anne collided with a women in formal dress like lawyer, they raised their hands for apologizes and Anne knows who is she but she couldn't talk to her as Sonite is making her rush. Anne notices that in the woman's hand a small injury happened as she fell due to the colloidal, Anne took the hand in care and cried,
"Sorry for injuring your hands madam, let me know what you need, I will bring it to you for my mistreat towards you and I don't to do."
The woman said,
"Anne!"
Anne's pupil widened, she is confused and didn't know who the hell is this woman.
Woman continued,
"You need to see Sonite now, I saw how massacre the man is made by the killer and your mother couldn't resist this pain. People around you hear is not very strict with you because they now what you will do when they instruct you but I'll tell you that you need to rush with MJB."
Anne didn't reply anything rather she just rushed towards the place with Sonite but the irony raised in the mind of Anne is why she is rushing to see her brother for the last time, she thinks it is purposeless to go there even she goes or not she couldn't stop that thing that is destined to happen but she kept thinking whether she should go or not.
Her hands shivered and she is full of the anxiety that conquered her whole mind and body which is made her unable to walk then she fainted into the arms of Sonite.
They were just a metre close to reach but Anne fainted and Sonite carried her to the doctor.
The doctor said that Anne is anxious which led to hypertension, which caused her to faint and uneven breathing was continued even when she is asleep. Sonite was with her the whole night focusing on the heart rate which gradually became normal due to the prescribed tablets and rest for her restless mind.
Anne opened her lazy eyes, she blinked a lot, she noticed that Sonite was sleeping in the chair near her and without disturbing she went to ease herself.
She came back and saw that a coffee was ready for her by Sonite. She sat in the bed and said,
"I never wanted to be a trouble for someone ever and I think I am troubling you. The thought of troubling another person who would do their work peacefully is causing me to regret me and I think I am a troublesome person from the start of my life, I doesn't want to extent my troubles to you. I doesn't want to be a burden to some good person like you and I think I could!"
She sighs and continued,
"I don't know what to do."
She kept her hand on her head and balanced it in her thighs where the devine tears of her fell.
Sonite said,
"There is an aesthetics in the way you make trouble, actually it is not a trouble and I think we re destined to help each other which is a form of inter-dependency of human connection. I think whenever you take these thoughts to your mind, the rays in the electrocardiograph raises."
He took the coffee, gave her and continued,
"We couldn't say that people live with any trouble in their life even if you are not here, I would be in a different type of trouble which is more than what I am experiencing now but there is always an aesthetics in the trouble especially when it is related to a graceful woman like you. When we are experiencing those trouble we might feel a bit exhausted but it is good to be exhausted and a person who doesn't be in trouble couldn't be classified as a person who is alive rather I consider them as dead. There is no stories without conflicts and stories are reflection of the life that we live."
She took a sip of coffee, as she is realizing few things. A ring from Sonite's phone made him go out with asking permission to him and he disappeared from the door, only the white door is visible closed and she is easy to open it just with her hand but she should now what stopping her from doing it in order to do it.
She took a deep breathe before she sip the cup of coffee with the lips of her stick to the cup like a small girl drinking water with holding the cup with two hands, she took a sip with her eyes facing the upward direction, kept the cup in the table after completing the coffee and waited for him.
A knock on the door, she opened the door, she was not suprised to see Sonite and Sonite said,
"You should just say to come in rather than straining for coming here to open this door."
They went near the bed and Anne said,
"You should just have to come in rather than requesting politely."
Sonite said,
"It is not the act of politeness, it is actually of cautions and also involves your privacy."
Anne said,
"I appreciate your act of wiseness and I request you to appreciate my act of commitment towards you."
Sonite sat down and said,
"I appreciate it but you didn't know that it is mentioned until you say me at the doorstep and I can say it is actually of kindness."
Anne got up from the bed and said,
"It is not act of kindness rather it is actually act of commitment towards you because I know that you are at the doorstep."
Sonite came to ask something but another knock was heard from the door. Sonite got up, went slowly towards the door, kept his hands on the door knob, unlocked it, he slowly pushed it in order to open, the nurse was appeared there with some medicines in her hands and the nurse said,
"You can discharge anytime from here and the doctor asked to talk these tablets for a week before you sleep."
Anne said lying in the bed,
"I want to discharge from this place as soon as I can."
Sonite looked at the nurse and said,
"We will discharge this bed less than thirty minutes if you accompany us to make the procedure faster."
The nurse came in breathing with her mouth, she said to Anne,
"Your dresses are kept in the locker, I will take it for you if you want me to."
Sonite intervened and said,
"I will take, you can go and do your work."
He made her go out and closed the door. Sonite came in and took the bag of Anne and asked her,
"I thought that you might need the dress for changing, so I brought the bag which was took by your mom's maid the time you fainted in the middle of the place."
Anne stood up immediately and asked,
"Did you go to the house? Did you saw my mom? Did you noticed how she is?"
She asked with trembling voice and severe tone which implies the care for her mom.
Sonite made her calm by making her sit in the bed and said,
"Yes! Yes! I went to the house, I saw your mom but she was pleasent at the point, she was just lying in the wall, crying from her heart and there were people around her consoling her."
Anne stood up even when Sonite tries to console her and said,
"I need to go! I need to go!"
Sonite calmed her said,
"I need to ensure that you be calm because your anxiety may cause your mom to fall in the ground again like she did yesterday and also your anxiety is very injurious to you."
Anne sat on the bed with facing her hand downwards and said,
"Even I know that my flaws are injurious to me, I couldn't stop commenting those things which shouldn't be commented by me."
Sonite sat with her, kept his hands on her hands and said,
"That's the nature of human beings but those you breaks those natural tendencies will attain a unexplainable state of human soul and you are a person who is full contradictions Annericia Reildr Francesca."
Anne widened her eyes due to the comment of her personality and she asked,
"What is the justification behind your comment on my personality? What way of psychoanalytic strategies you used to come to this conclusion on my personality?"
He laughed in a non noticable way of laughter, this laughter might be detected as a huge grin of a person if the person performs in the way Sonite did, then he leaned back while balancing his hands on the bed, he looked up then turned his face towards him, she was looking at him with her head turned, he closed his eyes with a small breath in then opened his eyes and said,
"For detecting way kind of person is you I doesn't need any psychoanalytical strategies as I known you for a long time and I know every atom of you."
She rose up and said,
"Even if you knows every atom of a person but it constantly changes in the course of time, I have known a person for long time but after few days of distance I noticed the changes in him, the constant change in life is inevitable for every person in the complex uncertain and unpredictable life."
He made her sit, he rose up, bend towards her, she her eyes and said slowly,
"I accept that people changes on the course of time but it doesn't imply for you. You built in a complex contradicting personality from the start, due to your stubbornness I saw you never changes and unchanging personality is inevitable in you Annericia."
She kept her heads down and said,
"I don't know why I built in a such a way."
He sat near and held her with his hands said,
"Apologizes to you if I hurt you, the way you built at start is not the problem of you but if you constantly be in the same personality then that's a bit concerning. See your brother is died, you need to be with your mother, even your condition is not appropriate for being there currently, atleast your mind should make you say that you wanted to be there but you are not doing it because you are a complex person. Sorry for stating the truth but anyhow someone should tell you the truth one day, everyone is being quiet because you may be hurted by the truth, your brother always tells others not to instruct you as you might be hurted by the truth and your wrath is very severe. Apologizes if I hurted you."
She slowly raises her head, looked at him with closing her eyes which might spill some tears anytime and said,
"Let us leave this place as I feel my presence is much needed in another place which you know where it is and I know that we could go from here in less than ten minutes if we work a bit faster then we do now."
Sonite rushed outside the room, he came with a group of people, they started working, he asked her to get refreshed and said that all the works will be over by the time she gets ready.
When she came out, she saw everything ready for her, he bought everything that is needed and she asked,
"Why didn't do it before itself? Even when I didn't asked it but you could have said that you can do it. Why didn't you ask?"
He gave her phone, which looked more new than before, he stood in front of her, seeing her eyes and said,
"Well, as you didn't asked me I didn't do it, this might be the reason you expect but the original reason is being around you is bliss and I wanted these moments of bliss to go forever. Even it is impractical for it to go forever, I couldn't resist myself from desiring for it as I am just another social animal, methinks the more practical thing is just to extent the movement of bliss even at time like this. Let us leave this place, we can just walk from here to your house then I might help your mother as she asked me to and I could be tough for us to meet in person but sometimes the eyes could meet, methinks that is enough."
He started to move, so she did, he stood near the door and she said,
"Everybody is a social animal, no one is pure here and all that we hold is hope."
She stood there holding the bag is her hands near the chair, he turned his head, sunlights fell on him, which casted the illusion of silhouette, he nod this head as he accepts what she said and they both left.
VII
They both kept silent while walking to the house. The sky had not revived from the rain that poured last night. The darkness of the place haunted her as she thought about the murder of her brother.
They both walked a few steps. From a tall building, a hammer fell on the road. She closed her eyes due to the sound, and he came in front of her to block her. She opened her eyes, then they parted away to avoid meeting each other’s eyes. After a few minutes, they reached the street where the soulless house was located.
The house was crowded with people. The red-eyed people recognised her and helped her get in.
She bent her head and asked Sonite,
“Who are these people?”
Sonite said,
“These are the political followers of your brother, but your brother addressed them as his admirers, which is actually the truth. These people are the power of this city.”
Slowly, a few people crowded around her and asked her to come in to see her mother. Her view of Sonite diminished as the power of the city separated them. She went near the door, swallowed, and then the door opened slowly by the maid.
The people left her with the maid, who directed her to the crowded circle. In the centre of the circle stood her mother, crying. The circle of people opened for her to go inside. When she went inside, the circle closed.
She sat near her mother. They did not communicate through words, as there was no need for it at that time because her presence was more than enough. Her mother hugged her, then called the maid and said something into her ear. The maid made Anne stand up and directed her to a room where she was instructed to stay. Then the maid went out.
Anne sat on the bed with a beautiful mattress. She stared at the roof for a few minutes, which might have turned into hours. In the reverie, she thought about the things that had happened to her and prayed like a child that all of this was a prank to scare her—but the reality was that this could not be a prank.
She thought that Sonite was a person who was tempering her and agreeing with whatever she said, but after a few minutes she began to think in a contrasting way about him. She started to wonder why Sonite believed in such a complicated manner, or else whether he was just a projection of herself in a different manner. She almost started to rant to herself.
The maid entered with Anne’s bag and all the materials needed for Anne to do everything she needed.
Anne bathed and changed her dress. She sat on the mattress thinking about how Sonite behaved towards her, and a dilemma rose in her mind. She was desperately in need of someone to share her views with, or simply she just wanted to rant.
The maid said,
“I don’t know whether it is appropriate to ask about your wellness at this moment, as we lost one of the greatest men I have ever met in my entire life.”
Anne said,
“You know that I won’t mind if you ask. Rather, I will be delighted to answer, as I am feeling strongly confused about Sonite’s activities.”
The maid sat near Anne with a calm face.
“I am not a genius like you or your brother, but I hold a certain social intelligence through the experience gained by living in cities.”
Anne raised her eyebrows and said,
“Sonite did everything good. He comforted me when my brother was killed. He accompanied me throughout the day; I even sensed that he had work, but he didn’t leave me. When I fainted yesterday, he took care of me till morning. When I totally forgot the reality of my brother’s death and continued speaking nonsense, he spoke with me and reminded me to come here. Towards the end, when we were near the house, he became uncomfortable, but he didn’t forget to comfort me. Then after a few minutes, he went.”
The maid sighed a bit and said,
“I want to be completely honest with you. Firstly, everybody around here likes you, so they protect you from anything. I have seen many times that your brother, your mother, and Sonite really care about you, but you wouldn’t acknowledge their care. Whenever your mother was distressed by your activities, your brother told her that this was the way you grew up and they couldn’t change you. Sonite likes you very much. He once said that he loves you more than his soul and feels that this feeling will be eternal.
“When you planned to go out of the city for higher studies, your mother was scared, but she knew that you were strong enough to handle it. Your brother arranged everything properly so you wouldn’t have legal or accommodation problems in the future, and Sonite wept all night. The only problem with you is that you don’t recognise or acknowledge that there are people around you who love and protect you. They won’t even tell you that you are delusional in order to protect you. Remember, the ultimate purpose is to spread love, and there is no shame in sacrificing.”
Silence conquered the air as Anne sat aghast after hearing the true feelings of others about her. She didn’t even notice that the maid had left, which happened just a second after she finished speaking. Time passed, and the sadness grew.
She heard a knock on the door. Another maid entered and called her to have lunch.
She sat at the table. Many foods were placed on her plate, and she ate slowly. A maid came to serve her water and was shocked to see Anne give her a smile of gratitude. Then Anne asked,
“Did Mom have food?”
Every maid stood shocked. Anne stood up and asked again in a soft tone,
“Did Mom have food?”
The maid said,
“She hasn’t eaten since last night. Then the doctor came and made her eat.”
Anne continued eating. Then she took her plate and kept it in the dishwasher by herself, even when the maids volunteered to do it. She smiled at the chef and said,
“The food was awesome.”
The chef was amazed to hear this. Anne’s mother’s assistant came to her and told Anne that her mom had called her.
Anne went out, but the assistant stayed and asked the chef,
“How is Anne doing?”
The chef replied,
“She seems fine. I think she has changed a lot, and I couldn’t help but notice the sadness in her eyes.”
VIII
Anne went near the meeting room. The door was open. She saw her mother sitting on a chair. As she moved forward, she noticed a man sitting next to her mother with a box in his hand. He stood up as she approached.
Anne’s mother had an expressionless face and said,
“Anne, he is your brother’s friend, and he wanted to talk to you in private.”
Her mother stood up, looked at the man, then looked at Anne, and left the room.
The man, with tearful eyes, said,
“Please be seated, Anne. I am really sorry for your loss. Your brother always talked about you. He really cared for you and wanted to protect you from the terror of politics. He said that after he joined politics, you started hating him, but before that, you both were very close. After his political participation, you both became moral enemies. Why the hatred towards politics?”
Anne held her hands together and said,
“My hatred is not entirely towards politics or politicians, but towards its ideas.”
The man furiously stood up and said,
“Those ideas are pretended by the government to increase votes.”
Anne nervously asked,
“What do you mean by it?”
The man sat down and said,
“You know your brother was educated by great minds. Then how could he follow those conservative ideas and principles?”
Anne said,
“I thought power and greed changed his course of thought as he went deep into politics. At the start, he was strong with those ideas, but later he changed a lot.”
The man said,
“A man trained by Dr. Jones Tennison Smith becoming subject to greed is impossible. Your brother had fame among people for his intelligence. The party wanted only his face to show people and make them believe that they were an intelligent party so that they would vote for them. Poor citizens don’t know the politicians’ game and they really don’t understand the manifesto. They believed your brother was intelligent, so they voted.”
Anne questioned,
“How did the politicians make him propagate those ideas?”
The man said,
“He refused and spoke the true ideas, but the media trimmed them. The media was paid to portray that he spoke the opposite of what he actually said. When he tried to leave the party, the leader desperately wanted your brother because, due to him, the votes and support increased.”
Anne asked,
“How did they stop him?”
The man, with a breaking voice, said,
“They assigned mob families to use muscle power. But your brother valued people more than his life. They told him that the next second he raised his voice against them, the people he loved would be painted red on the walls of his house. He had no other option than to follow what they said.”
Anne sat silently as she had hated the fake portrayal of a good man for a long time. She wholeheartedly regretted not telling him how much she liked him and not thanking him for caring for her throughout his entire life.
The man gave her the box and said,
“Your brother said that the day he closed his eyes permanently, within the next twenty-four hours this box should reach you. He wanted to give it to you on the day you left this house, but he couldn’t. He wanted to say that he really cared for you even if you hated him, because he always saw you as his little girl. All he wanted for you was to have a good life—where you follow what you like, disregarding all the haters; to be with the people you like; to find the true purpose of life, which is to spread love; to feel love for nature; and to find true love, which he lost in his life.”
The man came near Anne. Sunlight fell on them through the window. He touched her head and then left the room.
Anne sat alone in the room, thinking about all the moments she had with her brother—from childhood till the day she left. She thought about the small fights, the unhappy moments, and the happy moments.
As time passed, sunlight began to fall only on her. She saw the cover of the box glow due to the focused sunlight. She stood up and started walking around the room.
She opened the box, disposed of the waste into the dustbin, then walked towards the window. She kept the box on the table near the window and opened it. Inside, she saw a diamond necklace shining because of the sunlight.
She wore the necklace and went into her room. She stayed in that room for a few weeks. Sonite was busy with the investigation, and the other people in the house took care of her.
One day, she came out and went to her mother, who was sitting with a few people. She sat near her mother and said,
“I think it is time for me to go, and I am thinking about not staying here permanently.”
Her mother smiled at her, patted Anne’s cheek, and said,
“Your work is writing; it can be done anywhere. All you need is to keep yourself updated. I think it is purposeless to settle permanently in one place. Go places, meet people, love others, find a purpose to live, learn a lot, read a lot, do your writing, write something big, and visit your hometown once in a while. Stay anywhere you want, but stay in a place that makes you happy. If your hometown doesn’t give you happiness, go somewhere else. Talk to people about everything. You should feel that the world is yours and all the people are your people. Do something great for others. Be a dreamer—but not one who only dreams; be one who accomplishes dreams. Remember, there are no limits for dreamers like us. My dear Anne, make others happy, which will make you happy. Love nature, go out, and find love.”
Anne smiled, but there was still melancholy in her eyes. Her mother noticed it and said,
“Anne, when you see the beauty around you with an open mind, the melancholy in your beautiful eyes will be replaced with brightness. And if you want to talk about anything, there are always people for you.”
Anne smiled and hugged her mother. Her mother said,
“I am very proud of what you are doing in your life. Your way of seeing things reflects in your writing. Your words capture moments. Your brother was always proud of your bravery, but he couldn’t believe that his little sister had become a great woman. I too couldn’t believe that my little girl had become a world-renowned writer.”
Anne smiled and said,
“I never said this to you before, but I am saying it now—I am really grateful to have you in my life. I truly love the kind of woman you are, and thank you for making me like this. At first, I thought your parenting style wasn’t good because I have a difficult personality without realizing it, but you noticed it and groomed me accordingly. If you hadn’t raised me this way, I would have turned into a bad person. But you did something that made me a loving person without my notice. I always pictured myself as a cold woman, but then I realised that I am just another loving person like you, Mom. I love all the people around me who groomed me into a better person. I thought nobody liked me, but people tolerated me, loved me, and shaped me. I realised this feeling just ten days ago. I revisited my memories and understood how delusional I had been, thinking that there was no one who cared for me. I am not a lonely soul.”
Her mother smiled and hugged her with love-filled eyes.
IX
After having dinner, Anne went to her room. She lay on the bed thinking about the childhood memories with Sonite and thought about the things he did in the present. Without her notice, she smiled thinking about the conversation she had with him. She typed his name, searched his number, and saw his profile, which had the photo of him with his mom. She thought of calling him but thought that he would be busy with his work, then she again saw his profile. She kept the phone aside while thinking about him and smiling. She covered her face with her hands and laughed aloud.
She took the phone again and saw his number. She thought of giving a try. She called but cut the call in two seconds as she thought he would be busy and kept her phone aside. After a few minutes, a notification came. She thought it would be him, but it wasn’t, and she was upset. After a few minutes, Sonite called, and she attended with excitement.
She said,
“Hello! Is it Sonite?”
He said,
“Yes! Anne.”
By hearing him say her name, her pupils enlarged, her heart rate increased, and she smiled.
She said,
“Yes! Are you busy?”
Sonite said,
“I will never be busy for Anne, but I was busy, so I couldn’t visit you. You know, the investigation and stuff.”
Anne said with excitement in her voice,
“Not a problem, how is the investigation going, Mr. Cop?”
Sonite said,
“It’s going good, we might find a lead tomorrow, maybe overnight.”
Anne said,
“I called you to inform you that I am going tomorrow.”
Sonite said,
“Your mom’s assistant messaged me about all the things. It is good to go out and find yourself. I am happy that you are realising the purpose of life.”
Anne said,
“I will stay if you ask me.”
Sonite was silenced by those words. Anne laughed and said,
“I was just joking. Do you really want me to stay?”
Sonite laughed and said,
“If the happiness you get from being here is more than there, you should stay, or else you stay in the place you like. All I wish for you is to be happy.”
Anne said,
“I have not yet decided what to do, but initially I need to move there for any plan.”
Sonite said,
“It is good that you are pre-planned. I will be there to pick you up and to send off.”
Anne said,
“As a cop, you would be busy with those works, and I don’t want to cause trouble for you.”
Sonite said,
“You are not a trouble, I am delighted to be with you and will be always.”
She heard some noise from Sonite’s phone, and she said,
“I think you are busy, I’ll call later, and the flight is at—”
Sonite interrupted and said,
“I know all the flight details. So I will be there, and bye.”
Anne smiled and said,
“Bye!”
Anne lay on her bed smiling and covering her face with her hands.
Anne woke up in the morning. She saw Sonite’s message that he would be there at 11:00 a.m., and she felt a tinge of pain in her soul. She got ready by 10:46 a.m. and went to her mother.
Her mother said,
“Ready to fly?”
Anne said,
“Yes! I am glad that I stayed a little longer because I got a bit of clarity.”
Mom asked,
“How do you go?”
Anne said with bright eyes,
“Sonite said that he will drop me.”
Mom smiled and said,
“I see a different brightness in your eyes at the mention of his name. I saw his brightness in your brother’s eyes when he talked about Yevgeniya. The same kind of spirit is in your voice like when I speak about your dad.”
Anne sighed and said,
“I feel a little pain, more confusion, I feel bliss, happiness, and all emotions at the same time. It’s very complex and complicated to me.”
Mom said,
“Love is complex for everyone, but when you are ready to face anything, all complexity doesn’t matter.”
Anne smiled and said,
“Time for me to go, and bye!”
Anne waited for Sonite at the entrance of her house. Then he came five minutes late.
Sonite opened the door for her and made her comfortable.
Sonite said,
“Sorry for being late. We actually found the killer of your brother.”
Anne’s face became horrified and asked,
“Who is he?”
Sonite said,
“His name is Rodian. He is a young student of criminology, and he confessed that he killed him. He is in no way related to your brother.”
Anne asked,
“What is his purpose for killing?”
Sonite said,
“He stated that he just thought of it as an experiment.”
Anne asked,
“What is the department going to do?”
Sonite said,
“We kept him under observation, then produced him in court. They might give psychological treatment to him.”
Anne said,
“I am so much confused about everything in life.”
Sonite said,
“Everything will be alright for a good and strong woman like you. Remember the words your mom told.”
Sonite placed his hand on her hand and suddenly took it off and said,
“I am sorry.”
Anne said,
“Why are you apologizing? I should thank you for being with me.”
They reached the airport, and they both went inside.
Anne said,
“The flight will be soon.”
Sonite nodded.
Anne continued,
“I am grateful to have a friend like you, and thank you for helping me throughout my life. I have been a tough girl who was tolerated by you, and being loved by people like you is the greatest gift that I ever had in my life. I wanted to say many things, but I couldn’t. Sorry for mistreating you in the past. I realized many things very late in my life, and I am grateful for whatever you did. I know that I had a tough personality, but I will never make mistakes in the future. Thank you for tolerating and accepting me.”
Sonite said,
“You are not a trouble to be tolerated; rather, I would say that you are a delight to be accepted. I am so happy that the words of your mom changed your perspective in a few things in life. She called me last night and told me the words you quoted to her. She told me to keep it a secret, but I couldn’t. Your pain in those words shows your change, and I am glad that you consider me as your friend. You go to your place and decide what to do. I think it is time for you to go. Bye, dear Anne.”
Anne walked with mild grief. Sonite stood there and watched her going. Sonite kept his hands on his hips. He looked down with a little tears in his eyes, which fell down on the ground. Then he heard Anne calling him.
She ran towards him, hugged him, and said,
“I am too glad that I found you, and thank you for everything.”
Then she moved to the airplane with the memories she carried on this trip and the words of her mom.
She sat on a window seat. The flight took off. She took her diamond necklace and kissed it. She rested her head on the window, and a lot of tears fell on the window, which cleaned the glass and made it clearer than ever.
